We caught up with Anastasiya Kara from Rovio about the Vietnam's success, connecting with the Hanoi gaming industry and what she expects to take away from this years Gamesforum Vietnam 2026!

Q. Anastasiya, tell us a bit about yourself and your role at Rovio.

A. I am LiveOps and Features Lead with a background at Gameloft, Product Madness, and Scopely's Monopoly GO! I'm passionate about building deeply engaging player experiences through smart LiveOps, features and monetization systems.

Now at Rovio, I lead LiveOps and Feature production for a new Angry Birds match-3 title called Angry Birds Match, bringing our signature humor and brand destruction to create the next smash hit.

Q. What draws you to the Vietnamese market and what are you most excited to learn about the industry here?

A. Vietnam has rapidly become one of the most dynamic, high-growth mobile gaming hubs in the world, with local studios developing and publishing games at an amazing pace and quality. There is a clear shift from hyper-casual to hybrid and puzzle genres, and I’m most excited to learn how local teams are designing the systems for long-term player engagement. It’s a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas on how LiveOps and Features can help scale the next generation of global hits.

Q. How would you describe the growth of mobile gaming in Vietnam over the last few years, and where do you think the industry needs to focus next?

A. Vietnam’s growth has been incredible to watch as local studios rapidly mature from shipping volume-driven hyper-casual titles to complex, hybrid-casual games with serious global reach.

Vietnam is increasingly on the radar of global publishers. Why do you think it matters to the wider mobile gaming ecosystem?

Vietnam represents a massive shift in where global games are actually built. For publishers, it’s no longer just an emerging consumer market or an art outsourcing hub—it’s a global production power center. As local studios evolve from hyper-casual volume into deeper hybrid-casual models, they are proving they can innovate on both rapid execution and long-term player value.

Q. What can attendees expect to take away from your session at Gamesforum Vietnam?

A. Expect an honest breakdown of the modern LiveOps playbook, tracing how mechanics from titles like Monopoly GO! and Royal Match can be applied across genres. I’ll cover how to design sessions around resource chases rather than level frustration, giving you concrete ideas on how to build event-first experiences in your own game.
